qSOFA
Quick sepsis-related organ failure assessment
Clinician mode
Low risk
0
Low risk
- qSOFA ≥2 → Sepsis Six within 1 hour: O₂, cultures, IV Abx, IV fluids, lactate, urine output.
- Physiology in pregnancy runs low BP + high RR — qSOFA under-triggers; combine with MEOWS.
Reference range
Threshold ≥2 predicts 10% in-hospital mortality (Sepsis-3).
Common pitfalls
- Not a screening tool — use in patients with suspected infection.
- In pregnancy, physiological changes mean qSOFA under-scores.
